ABOUT ME

My name is Tomáš Skalský, I wan born in Ostrava 1984. I started playing guitar when I was 15. I had a chance to study various musical genres with several excellent musicians and teachers – Vilém Spilka (JAMU), Antonín Julina (Music School Smetanova), Petr Vít (Brno Conservatory), José María Ortíz (Granada, Spain) and others. I am mainly interested in jazz, bossa nova and flamenco. Travelling and music workshops in Spain and Brazil were and (still are) very inspiring for me. During my studies at the Department of Music at the Masaryk University Brno I have deepend my knowledge of musical theory. I have founded a jazz band Zzaj and I am a member of bands Funkshmakers (rock, funky), eLiška (electrofolk), Trio 43 (bossa, jazz), Tropical Plums (samba, bossa), Basement Weirdos (RnB, hip hop, funk), Ing Zajic (solo, loop). I have many experience as a guitar teacher, I have taught playing guitar in Center of Art Lampa, Music School Smetanova, Music School Jedovnice, Washclub and Drumstudio.

GUITAR, BASS AND UKULELE LESSONS

When playing guitar and bass guitar you should get through various technical and theoretical issues to be able to find your original musical language. The lectures are adjusted to the individual interest, level and skills of each student. A beginner will learn to master his instrument to be able to play his favourite song or composition. An advanced player will focus on the principles of improvisation and playing in a band.
I give the lectures in a fully equipped studio with a chilled out atmopsphere in our house in Masaryk District in Brno. However, I offer skype lessons. The lectures are suitable for children (12 years and older) and adults. I give the lessons also in English. A lesson lasts 50 minutes. The price is 450 CZK per 1 lesson. Group lessons or lessons at the student’s place are possible upon a prior agreement.
